Poison Pie
Renee Adams

July 1 - 31, 2010

Opening Reception: 5 - 8pm
First Thursday, July 1, 2010

Continuing her exploration of ideal beauty and the natural world, Renee Adams' current exhibit, Poison Pie, scrutinizes two species that, for many, have a magical allure. The jellyfish and the mushroom exist as elusive, enticing, foreboding and sometimes deadly members of our local flora and fauna. But Adams' sculptures go further in beguiling us with frills, baubles and ribbon. Like so many costumed and decorated women, our attraction to them is heightened by an illusion of paint and flourishes.
