In August, PUNCH presents a painting installation by Nathan DiPietro, again showcasing the irony of the positive as he further delves into notions of Utopia. Bright rainbows of color, grassy green fields, and cobalt blue skies bombard the viewer with happiness. Many of the vibrant egg tempera paintings focus on wool roving and handspun. These paintings will be complemented by a series of wool insulations displayed throughout the gallery, all dyed by local craft artists. Many of the paintings will be in the “tondo” circular painting format.
DiPietro received his BFA from Central Washington University in 2003 and now lives in Seattle. He shows his work locally and nationally and he boasts that his Monte Christo sandwiches are out of this world.
