PUNCH Call for projects
December 2008
PUNCH Gallery is pleased to announce that
Ira Eduardovna from Los Angeles, CA has been awarded exclusive use of the gallery for the month of December 2008. Her project was selected from nearly 100 submissions received during our "Open Call for Projects" competition.
As usual, we received many top notch proposals, and we look forward to sharing images and information on our website from the top finalists.
More information will be posted over the weekend.

PUNCH Gallery presents
an international call for artist projects.
The winning project will be exhibited at PUNCH Gallery, located in the Pioneer Square area of downtown
Seattle, during the month of December, 2008, and will provide an excellent opportunity to gain exposure within
the Northwest regional art scene.
Artists from any country may submit a project proposal in any medium. In addition to solo or group exhibitions within the category of visual arts, artists are encouraged to submit project proposals in
the fields of new media, video, sound, installation, theatre, music, or any other project appropriate for the gallery space.
The entrant will be repsonsible for the installation of the project, shipping of works, and any costs relating to the project. PUNCH will, however, provide an honorarium to the winning applicant to help cover travel and expenses. In addition to providing our space for the month of December, PUNCH will also provide a printed announcement, vinyl lettering for the window, and a case of wine for the opening.
Members of PUNCH are
not eligible to enter.
Jury
Entries will be reviewed, and the winning project will be selected by the PUNCH Gallery Board of Directors.
Awards
The winning project will receive:
• Use of the gallery for the month of December, 2008
• An honorarium (determined by number of entries)
• Full-color printed announcement
• Vinyl lettering for front window
• Case of wine for the opening reception
• Gallery staff during regular business hours
Entry fees
• $20 per project proposal
• Check or money order is preferred.
• If necessary, you may submit a PayPal payment to art@punchgallery.org (please include your PayPal receipt with your mailed entry).
Entry Requirements
• $20 Entry Fee
• 6-10 Images (JPEG Format)
• Written Proposal (300 words or less)
• Artist Resume
Image Preparation
Set the resolution to 72dpi and size your
images to 1200 pixels in the longest direction (i.e. 1200 pixels wide for horizontal
images or 1200 pixels high for vertical images).
Save your image in JPEG format using your
first initial, last name and a sequential number for the title
(for example: j_doe_01.jpg).
If you're submitting video or sound
work, then you may include a DVD or CD in addition to the JPEG still images.
2008 Calendar
October 15
Deadline for receipt of mailed submissions.
October 24
Notification of winning project (listed on our website).
November 10
Deadline for postcard image and brief statement.
December 1-3
Project installation.
December 4
Opening reception at PUNCH Gallery.
December 28
De-installation of exhibition.
Sales
PUNCH will retain a 30% commission on all artwork sales.
Size Limitation
Work must be able to fit through our front door (81”x40”).

Insurance
Every precaution will be taken to assure that your work is handled
with utmost care and respect during
the run of the exhibition. However, it is the artist's responsibility
to carry insurance for any of their works in the exhibition.
PUNCH will not be responsible
for damage, theft or loss of any kind.
Shipping and Return
The winning applicant will be responsible for all time and expense related to shipping and installation. PUNCH will provide an honorarium (determined by number of entries) to help with these expenses.

How to Submit Entries

PUNCH was founded in March 2006
by a group of artists eager to participate in the dynamic cultural
exchange resulting from the emergence of other artist-run galleries
in Seattle. PUNCH seeks to exhibit
