Statement
When I look around homes with history I look in the closets,
under the floorboards and kitchen cupboards looking for a
lost
remnant of taste, utility and choices made for a different
time. I
search for places with bygone use now changed to an extra
pantry, or storage space or just forgotten. I’m looking
at pattern,
from catalog designs and chairs rubbing on the wall. A language
exists within these elements of physical life that I utilize
in my
work.
The wallpaper I create is from found images turned to punch
lines. I repeat and pattern each little drama to produce a
beautiful
backdrop for daily life. I place my backdrop within a history
and
give clues to what has happened to a piece of home, a pattern
and thought.
